US Shipping Updates
August 20th 2026
The U.S. government has temporarily postponed the proposed 50% additional tariff on certain Canadian goods until August 22, while Canada and the United States continue negotiations toward a trade agreement.
At this time, the tariff has been paused...not cancelled. No final agreement has yet been announced.
Because most Uneven pieces are made to order and take 2–4 weeks to create, we cannot guarantee that orders placed now will enter the United States before the current tariff deadline.
For this reason, an estimated tariff fee is currently being collected at checkout on U.S. orders.
We know this is frustrating...We are doing our best to navigate an evolving situation while keeping U.S. orders open whenever possible.
If the proposed tariff is cancelled, reduced, or does not apply to your order, we will adjust/refund the corresponding tariff amount accordingly.
We will continue monitoring the negotiations closely and update this page as soon as we have confirmed information.
August 13, 2026
Due to new U.S. tariffs on Canadian goods, we are currently expecting a 50% tariff on Canadian jewelry to take effect August 19, 2026.
We have been working hard to get as many U.S. orders as possible shipped before the new tariffs take effect.
As of August 13, we are past our deadline to guarantee that new orders can be shipped before the tariffs take effect.
For this reason, estimated tariff fees are now being collected at checkout on U.S. orders.
These fees are collected specifically to cover the potential tariffs that may be charged when your order enters the United States. They are not an additional markup or fee from Uneven.
What if the tariffs change? Well The situation remains uncertain, and we are still hoping for a last-minute agreement between Canada and the United States.
If the tariff does not take effect, or if the final tariff is lower than the amount collected, we will refund the difference to you.
If there are any changes that affect your specific order, we will do our best to communicate with you directly.
Thank you so much for your patience and understanding while we navigate this very strange and uncertain situation. 🖤

✨ Update .August 7th, 2026
If you’ve landed here after seeing the announcement on the website, first of all, thank you for taking the time to read this.
Uneven is a tiny jewelry studio based in Québec, Canada. Every piece is designed, hand carved, finished and packed here in my little workshop, with all of our castings done by another local Québec business.
Many of the people who have supported Uneven over the years are based in the United States, and I can’t thank you enough for making this little spooky dream possible.
What’s happening?
The U.S. government has announced new tariffs on many Canadian products that are currently scheduled to take effect on August 19, 2026.
Based on the information available today, jewelry appears to be included in the affected product categories. I’m still hopeful that negotiations or further guidance may change how these measures are applied, and I’ll continue following the situation.
What does this mean for Uneven?
Because almost every piece is made to order, I don’t want to risk your order being caught in the middle of these changes while crossing the border.
For that reason, I plan to temporarily pause U.S. orders on August 13, 2026.
This is simply my best chance of ensuring existing orders leave the studio and cross the border before the new measures are expected to take effect.
If negotiations change or more information becomes available before then, I’ll happily adjust this plan.
What happens after August 13?
My goal is to reopen U.S. orders as soon as I have a clear, reliable way to ship under the new rules.
This may include collecting any required import duties during checkout if necessary, but I’m still waiting for final guidance before making any changes.
If you’ve been thinking about adopting a piece…
If there’s something you’ve had your eye on for this spooky season, I encourage you to place your order before August 13.
Not because I want to pressure you...but because I’d love to have the best possible chance of getting your jewelry safely into your hands before anything changes, and avoiding possible fees.
A quick note about turnaround times
For the upcoming week, I’ll be doing everything I can to prepare and ship U.S. orders before my temporary pause.
If I ever feel I can’t complete your order in time, I’ll contact you personally before shipping so we can decide together on the best solution.
Thank you.
I know these changes are frustrating.
The rising cost of precious metals has already made handcrafted jewelry more expensive to produce, and adding new trade barriers doesn’t make things any easier...for you or for small makers like me.
Whether you’re able to place an order right now or simply continue supporting Uneven on from afar, thank you.
Your support, your kind words, your photos and review, and your love for all things spooky have helped this tiny Canadian studio grow into what it is today.
I’m incredibly grateful, and I’ll continue sharing any updates here as soon as I have them.
